The problem
About half of the small-parcel shipments headed to our warehouses were being marked lost in transit. The parcels were fine. We just couldn’t see them.
What I did
I built a data pipeline from the carriers’ scan events, so a parcel could be traced from the vendor’s dock to our shelf. Then I set up automated reports for the sites and the business teams.
What changed
Lost-in-transit went from about 50% to nearly zero. In-stock on that assortment went from 50 to 60% up to more than 90%.
